Earlier this month, the developers at Amazing Seasun Games shared an update with fans to confirmMecha BREAK’sXbox Series X|S launch exclusivity, which means PlayStation 5 gamers must wait until later in the year before trying out the new mech shooter. The PC versions will also be available day-and-date for Steam and Windows via the Xbox app, with cross-play and cross-save functionality between the Xbox and PC versions. Amazing Seasun Games also revealed that developers from Xbox are providing support forMecha BREAK’sdevelopment to ensure the cross-platform features work at launch. Nearly four months after the August 2024 beta test, players on Xbox and PC will be able to have another opportunity to experienceMecha BREAKbefore its full launch.

TheMecha BREAKGlobal Storm open beta test begins on February 23 at 2:00 a.m. PT / 5:00 a.m. ET on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and an end date has not been announced yet. According to Amazing Seasun Games, the open beta test will have the 3v3 Ace Arena and 6v6 Operation VERGE game modes available fromthe previousMecha BREAKopen beta, along with the all-new tactical co-op PvPvE mode called “Mashmak.” Moreover, a new trailer was released to highlight this new Mashmak mode and confirm the open beta test’s start date. In Mashmak, players will battle over the Mashmak Isles, which hold massive reserves of an eruptive and inorganic material known as Corite. While players vie for control of the islands, Corite is capable of causing destructive pulse storms. New equipment has been developed to ensure players can brave the hostile environment and excel in close-quarters combat against opponents.

Mecha BREAK Global Storm Open Beta Test Begins on February 23

All the gameplay features in the Global Storm open beta test will be available inMecha BREAKat launch, including the opening tutorial and introduction sequence, character and mech customization, the explorable space station, three core game modes, a training room, and 13 distinct mechs. The developers confirmed that cross-play will be enabled in the beta as well, allowing Xbox and PC players to matchmake and play together. While playing the open beta test, players can obtain and choose from a selection of new weapons and equipment to suit their playstyle, similarly to what players experienced intheMecha BREAKPC beta test.

PlayStation 5 gamers won’t be able to try out the mech shooter just yet, butMecha BREAK’splanned PlayStation release for 2025 means that gamers won’t have to wait a whole year for the console exclusivity period to end.
