Wearing certain outfits will give you helpful abilities inHello Kitty Island Adventure. One example is the Mermaid Outfit, which slightly boosts your swim speed and reduces the cost of stamina when diving. Equipping all three pieces of the outfit will enhance these effects. However, swapping between outfits each time your character dips into the water can be tedious. You’ll need to pause and change clothes manually. Luckily, there’s a way to auto-equip the Mermaid Outfit, and that’s by completing the “Mermaidified Fashion” quest.

Citrusfin, Bog Clamfish, Opal Flutterfin, Banded Spelunker
Chocoat needs you to deliver:
Speaking to him will give youa list of their locationsand what time of day they can be found. If you’re struggling to catch the rarer fish, you may want to haveBadtz-Maruas your companion for the Fish Whisperer ability.
The two fish of each required species need to bethe same size. Meaning if you have one Large Opal Flutterfin and a small Opal Flutterfin, you won’t be able to turn both in to meet the Opal Flutterfin requirement. Make sure you either havetwo same-sized fish.
Citrusfin Location
Citrusfin is found onSeaside Resortduring themorning/day. You’ll want to fish inthe pond behind My Melody’s store. Citrusfin are green, round fish, but you may hook Summer Sole, too. You can refer to the above image for the exact location.
Bog Clamfish Location
Bog Clamfish are easier to catch and don’t have a time of day requirement. you may find themnext to Kuromi’s Potion Shop. They’re also the only fish you can get in the Spooky Swamp (near the Potion Shop), so you should be able to catch the Bog Clamfish relatively quickly.
Opal Flutterfin Location
Opal Flutterfin can be caughtat Comedy HallinRainbow Reef. Youcan’tcatch the Opal Flutterfin with the Bubble Wand, so you’ll have tofish from the boxes floating above Comedy Hall. Swim to the surface, and look a little way northwest from the Comedy Hall, and you’ll see two purple boxes. From there, you can fish the Opal Flutterfins.
Banded Spelunker Location
Banded Spelunker can be found in thelake inside the Crystal Caves. This is also the same room whereyou can get the Calming Crystals. You can reach the lake quickly by warping to the Ice Peak Entrance and taking the cave entrance from below (use the above images for the locations).
Banded Spelunker share the lake with Cavern Clamfish. You’ll want to cast your line into the group of Banded Spelunkers to reduce your chances of hooking Cavern Clamfish. If the Banded Spelunkers aren’t biting, you may have to equip Bait to the fishing hook.
How to Auto-Equip the Mermaid Outfit
How to Use the Mermaidifier
After you’ve given all eight fish to Chococat, you’ll be able toactivate the upgraded Mermaidifier. Stand in the center of the blue power crystals, and you’ll see a clothes hanger over your character’s head. From there, you canset an outfit to the Mermaidifier.
You won’t be able to wear this outfit elsewhere if you assign it to the Mermaidifier. That said, you’re able to always swap out Mermaid Clothing when you unlock more of them.
As long as there’sclothing in the Mermaidifier, your character willautomatically equip the suitwhen they enter the water. You’ll re-equip your regular outfit when you’re back on land.
