What Is Hunter Rank?

Hunter Rank Represents Your Character Level

InMonster Hunter Wilds, Hunter Rank isboth a representation of your character’s prowess, and a stat that unlocks new content as you raise it. To see your current Hunter Level,open up your ‘Hunter Profile’ on the ‘Info’ tab of the menu. Then tab to the right to see yourEquipment and Status screen. Your current HR level will be listed below your character’s name at the top of the Status display.

As you raise your Hunter Rank,Monster Hunter Wildsplayers will unlock higher-level monsters to fight, stronger gear to equip, andnew optional and side content to take on.

What’s The Max Hunter Rank In Monster Hunter Wilds?

Themax Hunter Rank inMonster Hunter Wildscaps out at HR level 999. This allows for practically infinite progression in the endgame, butduring the main campaign missions, theMonster Hunter Wildsmax Hunter Rank is capped at Level 15, the max Hunter Rank for the Low Rank portion of the game before rolling credits.

After finishing the game, this cap will unlock as players unlock endgame and High RankMonster Hunter Wildscontent.

What’s The Difference Between Low HR vs High HR?

The simplest way to think about Low HR vs High HR is toconsider Low Hunter Rank as the main campaign and story portion of the game, while High Hunter Rank is the endgame.

While in Low Rank, you will only be able to acquire LR equipment and fight LR monsters, mostly as part of progression through main missions. But in High Rank the entire rest of the game opens up, including scaling monster difficulties, powerful High Rank-exclusive gear, and other side content exclusive to theMonster Hunter Wildspost-story.

How To Increase Hunter Rank In Monster Hunter Wilds

To increase Hunter Rank,Monster Hunter Wildsplayers mustcomplete main missions, side missions, or successfully finish hunts. Defeating monsters and completing quests both reward HR.

To raise your Hunter Rank quickly,take on special Assignments and Optional Missionsas you complete the main story in Low Rank. The maximum Hunter Rank in Low RankMonster Hunter Wildsis 15, which you should be able to reach well before credits roll if youcomplete all side content along the way.

In High Rank, you canstart gaining Hunter Rank Points (HRP) by completing specific types of content. The best way to raise Hunter RankMonster Hunter Wildsplayers can employ is totake on Side Quests. There are dozens of side quests that unlock after credits roll, so go back through every region and check them off one-by-one to quickly increase your Hunter Rank and get more HRP. Youcan also complete regular quests (and Hunts) to gain HRP.

Remember to take on optional missions and defeat bosses in the open world between side missions to increase your Hunter Level more effectively in both High and Low Rank.
