We managed to find a lot of Iron Ore early on inMonster Hunter Wild’s Plains environment. If you open up your map and zoom into the world, you’ll spot rock icons that say “Mining Outcrop.” you’re able to interact with these gathering points and claim all sorts of materials for crafting, including Iron Ore.
If youhighlight a Mining Outcrop on your mapor any other point for that matter, you canclick on the right control stick to set a waypoint. If youride on top of your Seikret, they will immediately lead you toward the destination, making it very easy to find the materials you need.
In pastMonster Huntergames, you had to buy and carry pickaxes to mine for gems, but luckily, you don’t need anything like that inMonster Hunter Wilds.
We found some in Area 7 of the Plains, but you should be able to find Mining Outcrops all over. It’s also worth noting that you may also receive Iron Ore as quest rewards for hunting monsters or through other means. In a short amount of time, you’ll find yourself with a lot more Iron Ore than you need.
If you want rarer resources or even just more resources from gathering points, you can attempt to find equipment with either theForager’s LuckorGeologistskills. The more pieces of equipment you put on with the skill, the more potent the skill will be.
