You will receive a Whetstone during the first monster hunt, and the game should provide abrief tutorial on the sharpening systemonce your weapon dulls for the first time.
Touse a Whetstone, hold down L1 (LB) to open up the context-sensitive radial menu. If you have not customized the radial menu yet, by default you will have to press down on the D-pad to open up theradial Equipment menu.
Then,tilt the right analogue stick up and release to use the Whetstoneand sharpen your blade back into fighting shape.
