He chooses to go back to the games and wins after a grueling series of events that mess with his mind. Even after all the struggles he faces, however, he comes back to find out that his mother succumbed to the disease, making his hopelessness more severe than ever before.

During the twisted game of marbles, Sae-byeok is partnered up with Ji-yeong. This interesting character reveals the abuse she faced from her father and how she eventually broke and killed him in a fit of rage, leading to her imprisonment.
After being released, she participated in the games since she felt that she had nothing to live for. Sae-byeok decides to throw her life away for her, only to be bamboozled by Ji-yeong, who happily sacrifices herself to help Sae-byeok reunite her family with the money she could win from coming out victorious in the games.

The game of Mingle in Season 2 ofSquid Gameis one of the most iconic games in the series, seeing several characters meet a tragic fate.Such is the case with Kim Young-mi, who starts out with a group but is eventually pushed away and killed after her place is taken by MG Coin.
All she can do is look helplessly at her friends as she’s shot in the back by the guards. It’s a tragic moment that cements how ruthless the games can be, especially since this innocent woman is killed through no fault of her own.

Was Forced To Play A Twisted Game Where He Refused To Condemn His Partner To Death
The first episode of Season 2 starts off with a bang, with the Recruiter abducting two people who were trying to track him down. He forces them into a twisted game of Rock-Paper-Scissors-Minus One, where the two are constantly drawing until a pivotal moment sees Jung-bae accidentally placing himself in a corner by making a mistake and pulling out two of the same shapes at once.
However, after the Recruiter says Minus One, Jung-bae is shocked to see thathis boss refused to condemn him to deathby pulling one of his hands. He is disqualified and shot in cold blood, making for a shocking end to one of the most riveting scenes in Season 2.

Unfortunately,they failed to figure out that Hwang In-ho was playing both sidesall along, trusting him with a critical task that could’ve led to their rebellion becoming a success. Instead, they were forced to surrender, and Jung-bae was brutally killed in front of Gi-hun as a form of punishment.

Brutally Stabbed To Death By An Incensed Nam-gyu
One of the most interesting characters in Season 2, Se-mi,formed a bond with Park Min-suthat seemed promising. However, the latter chose to side with Thanos, while Se-mi wasted no time in antagonizing Thanos and Nam-gyu whenever she had a chance.
Eventually, this caught up to her during the brutal killings that took place after the lights went out, where Nam-gyu managed to overpower and stab her in the neck with a kitchen fork. Min-su couldn’t protect her and decided to shrink back into the shadows as she was stabbed over and over again.

Cho Sang-woo showed his true colors over the course of the first season, reaching a point where Gi-hun couldn’t trust him anymore. As such, Gi-hun stayed awake to protect Sae-byeok, who was bleeding out and completely defenseless moments before the final game.
However, the protagonist falls for Sang-woo’s bluff and leaves Sae-byeok for a fleeting moment, allowing Sang-woo to approach and kill her in cold blood.It was a shocking deaththat paved the way for a final confrontation between Gi-hun and his old friend.

This is whenSang-woo decides to betray Aliby pretending to be on his side, only to steal his marbles and emerge victorious. The migrant worker was forced to reflect on this betrayal in his final moments as a guard shot him down.
