TheNarutoseries' dynamic power system has given way to all sorts of techniques and jutsu that shinobi utilize in combat. While flashier techniques tend to remain in the spotlight, other abilities that are just as essential tend to get sidelined, and teleportation powers are a prime example of this phenomenon. While not exactly necessary for combat, teleportation techniques are an essential form of ninjutsu that can come in handy for both offense and defense.
TheNarutoseries is laced with different forms of teleportation techniques, whether it’s thefamed Flying Raijin Jutsuor higher forms of space-time ninjutsu such as Yomotsu Hirasaka. Most teleportation powers are categorized as space-time ninjutsu, though some techniques can still be classified as teleportation powers even without manipulating space-time.
The Second Hokage’s Prime Invention
First Appearance
Naruto Shippuden, Episode 119 “Kakashi Chronicles ~ Boys' Life on the Battlefield ~ Part 1”
Users
Minato Namikaze, Tobirama Senju, Boruto Uzumaki
Invented bythe Second Hokage Tobirama Senjuand later perfected by Minato Namikaze, the Flying Raijin Jutsu is the epitome of teleportation techniques in the Naruto series. The Flying Raijin Jutsu is a space-time ninjutsu, meaning it allows the user to bend the fabric of space and time to teleport from one place to another. While space-time ninjutsu are dotted throughout theNarutoseries, the Flying Raijin Jutsu stands out due to its minimal chakra requirement and the limitless distance that it can cover.
Through the Flying Raijin Jutsu, the user can teleport to a seal no matter the distance. Minato used this technique by placing the sealon his special kunai, which he would throw behind enemy lines and teleport to it, taking his enemies by surprise. The technique is quite overwhelming due to the fact that multiple seals can be placed at any given moment. Moreover, there is no time limit for the seal to expire, meaning once a seal has been placed, the user can teleport to it indefinitely.

Despite being one of the earliest teleportation techniques to be introduced to the entire series, the Summoning Jutsuis often overlooked, largely due to the fact that it can only teleport summoning animals. However, the summoning technique has many applications, as it can also be used to summon objects and even scrolls. However, the technique is primarily used to summon an animal that the user has already formed a contract with.
Using the Summoning technique also requires the user’s blood, coupled with a sufficient amount of chakra. This is primarily why the shinobi must sign a scroll with their own blood when a contract is formed between a summoned animal and a ninja. A Reverse Summoning can also take place if the Summoning Jutsu is not used properly, which was witnessed in the case of Jiraiya, who accidentallyteleported himself to Mt. Myobokuinstead of summoning an animal.
Naruto Shippuden, Episode 459 “She of the Beginning”
Kaguya, Urashiki, Black Zetsu
Yomotsu Hirasaka is aKekkei Mora of the Otsutsuki Clan, and it was first witnessed being used by Kaguya Otsutsuki in the Fourth Great Ninja War’s climax. Since the Otsutsuki are the progenitors of space-time ninjutsu, Yomotsu Hirasaka allows the user to create rifts in space that can be used to travel to another location, either within the same dimension or another dimension altogether.
The technique is quite versatile, as it can allow the user to either teleport parts of themselves into another dimension or dodge projectiles by opening a spatial opening for the attacks to pass through. Despite being a seemingly simple teleportation technique, Yomotsu Hirasaka is arguably one of Kaguya’s strongest techniques that gave her the upper hand against Naruto and Sasuke.
Kaguya Otsutsuki
Another one of Kaguya Otsutsuki’s space-time ninjutsu, Amenominaka is a Kekkei Mora that allows Kaguya to teleport herself and anyone in her vicinty to an entirely new dimension. While it appears that Kaguya is teleporting herself and those around her to a new dimension, it would be more accurate to say that she replaces her current dimension with another one.
The speed at which the teleportation takes place even made Kakashi second-guess reality, as the jutsu seems more akin to a genjutsu. With Amenominaka, Kaguya can access any of her six dimensions instantaneously. It’s worth noting that Kaguya cannot use Amenominaka to dodge incoming attacks, since she can merely change the surrounding dimension. The technique showcases the extent ofthe Rinne-Sharingan’s prowess.

The Body Flicker Techniqueis one of the simplest techniques in the Naruto universe, yet it’s also the most useful for shinobi. While not exactly a space-time ninjutsu, the Body Flicker Jutsu acts as a teleportation technique, as it allows the user to materialize chakra to move at immensely high speeds from one place to another, which gives off the illusion of teleportation.
Since the technique itself is not an illusion, as it works by materializing chakra to move at untraceable speeds, the Body Flicker Jutsu can be considered a teleportation technique. This is even more true inthe case of Shisui Uchiha, who is known for his specialized Body Flicker technique. His immense prowess allowed him to move from one place to another almost instantaneously, overwhelming opponents with his untraceable speed that left behind empty illusions of himself.
Sasuke Uchiha
Amenotejikara is another space-time ninjutsu, albeit one that has many intricacies. Used by Sasuke Uchiha, Amenotejikara isa space-time ninjutsuthat allows the user to exchange space between themselves and a chosen target, with the teleportation taking place almost instantaneously. Initially, it was believed that Amenotejikara could only work by switching the user’s own space with a target, whether it’s an inanimate object or another person.
However, it was later revealed that the user can also exchange space between themselves and air, meaning Amenotejikara can allow the user to teleport instantaneously almost anywhere in a certain radius. Amenotejikara isSasuke’s unique Rinnegan ability, one that he has been witnessed using throughout most of Boruto. Considering the technique was able to best a few Ototsuki clan members in the Boruto series, it’s clear that Amenotejikara is arguably one of the strongest teleportation powers in the Naruto franchise.
Obito, Kakashi, Madara
Kamui is a technique of many intricacies, as this was the first teleportation technique introduced in the series that had a pocket dimension of its own. With this technique, Obito was able to teleport himself tothe Kamui dimensionalmost instantaneously, along with any object that he was in contact with.
Moreover, he could use this technique to travel over distances by reappearing out of his pocket dimension in his targeted location. While the extent of Obito’s teleportation through Kamui was never exactly explored, Obito was later able to synchronize his Kamui with Kaguya’s Yomotsu Hirasaka, which allowed him to teleport himself to all of Kaguya’s six dimensions. This upgrade turned Kamui into a true teleportation technique, allowing him to not only access his pocket dimension, but also six moredimensions of the Otsutsuki.
Isshiki Otsutsuki, Kawaki
Daikokuten is one of the newest teleportation abilities to be introduced to theNarutofranchise. The technique is a derivative power of the Kokugan, a dojutsu that originallybelonged to Isshiki Otsutsuki. The technique works similar to Kamui, as it grants the user a pocket dimension where they can store objects indefinitely. However, Daikokuten differs from Kamui in some respects.
For instance, Daikokuten cannot be used to transfer parts of the body into the pocket dimension. Moreover, anything stored within Daikokuten’s dimension remains in a state of stasis, unlike the Kamui dimension, which allows free movement. Nevertheless, Daikokuten is still an extremely powerful technique, especially when used in conjunction with Sukunahikona, anothertechnique of the Kokugan.
