Last summer,an unbelievable crossoverbetween some of the most famous ninjas in the media was announced. Of course, we are talking about the famous crossover that has been happening betweenNarutoandTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(herein,TMNT). This collaboration is happening as a joint effort betweenNaruto’s Viz Media andTMNT’s IDW Publishing.
So far, two of the four issues have been released. And while the latest one just came out on January 22nd, the creators have find fans something to get them excited about the next issue. A new piece of artwork was posted on Monday by the X (formerlyTwitter) accountAniNewsAndFacts. The artwork is presumably a preview for the third issue.

A Crossover for History Books
The crossover comic book series betweenNarutoand theTMNTwas first announced in July 2024. The miniseries will be four issues in total, with the first two currently published. The first came out November 20th, 2024, and the second following on January 22nd, 2025. The series is written by Caleb Goellner (Sonic the Hedgehog) and illustrated by Hendry Prasetya (Mighty MorphinPower Rangers).
IDW Publishing, who are publishing the comics alongside Viz Media, describe the story of the first issue as:
It’s the coolest ninja matchup you could have ever dreamed of, had you dared!
The Heroes in a Half-Shell meet the host of the Nine-Tailed Fox in the crossover everyone will be talking about. When teenage reporter April O’Neil has a clandestine meeting with Tsunade, the leader of the Hidden Leaf Village, it garners the attention of Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi. They aren’t the only ones who are wondering what the two women were discussing, though. The sinister Foot Clan have their own interest in April’s visit, as they think she might hold the valuable information on mutation research being conducted by the scientist Baxter Stockman. With April caught between the forces of the Hidden Leaf Village and the Foot Clan, it can’t be long before the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show up to lend her a hand!
It has appearances bymost of the main characters fromNaruto, but with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles thrown in for something no one has ever seen before.

A Little Preview
Within the first few hours of being posted, the new artwork from theNarutoandTMNTcrossover already had plenty of attention online. The piece shows none other than Naruto himself diving headfirst into a fight. He isn’t alone, though, as he is backed up by his new ninja gang ofRaphael, Donatello, Leonardo, and Michelangelo.
The ninja clan is facing off against Shredder, a well-known villain from theTMNTuniverse. The comments on the post are already in favor of the ninjas’ victory, with a few people posting that Shredder wouldn’t stand a chance against such a strong team. The third issue of the comic will release in the second half of March, so everyone will have to wait another month before they see exactly what happens.
The third (out of four) issue of theNaruto x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesseries will be released on March 19th, 2025.
