One Pieceis set to return for another fun adventure and fans can’t wait for it. A new promo forOne PieceSeason 2 features a beloved character rocking their anime-inspired costumes.

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s original manga and anime,One Piece, received a lot of praise when it debuted in 2023. One of the things that fans noticed was how the production stayed faithful to the source material, especially when it came to the characters' costumes. Apparently, they are keeping the same in the second season. A new photo featured a fan-favorite character rocking the same outfit as their anime counterpart.

A new photo forOne PieceSeason 2has made the rounds on social media. Eagle-eyed fans immediately noticed that Nami (Emily Rudd) was wearing the same costume as the anime character she portrayed. Usopp (Jacob Romero) and Santi (Taz Skylar) also receive the same treatment. Iñaki Godoy and Mackenyu, who play Monkey D. Luffy andRoronoa Zoro, respectively, were also in the picture. However, the two were doning the same costumes fans saw in Season 1, which was why the trio got more attention. In the snap, Emily’s orange hair is noticeable and she’s wearing a blue-green top and black skort with rings or loops. She paired it with a pair of brown boots and a sling bag. Romero was also in character as Usopp in his purple sleeveless top with matching bandana and red pants. Skylar also looks every bit of Santi in his blue top and black pants.

While many fans loved the costumes in the live-action, some also noticed that Rudd’s character, Nami, was portrayed in a more reserved way in the live-action. In the anime version, Nami dons revealing outfits. Diana Cilliers, the costume designer for Netflix’s One Piece, toldBusiness Insiderthat they dressed Nami that way “to keep the balance of the innocence and purity” ofOne Piece. “Nami was, in a way, the big sister,” Cilliers explained. “Instead of being in any way elaborate or flaunting herself, she was not that kind of character at all. She was nurturing everyone around her.”

While there’s a noticeable change inNami’s outfitsin the live-action adaptation, it still honors the character’s arc. For instance, inOne PieceSeason 1, Nami wore an orange-and-white striped shirt similar to the anime version. However, it was more fitted and less saturated. She also paired it with a teal mini-skirt with silver rings attached to the hem. The changes gave Rudd’s Nami version a more grounded and realistic look, and the addition of rings on her skirt gave her costume unique details. It’s also practical and may have functional purposes since she can attach small tools or accessories to it, which is helpful since Nami is a thief. Even if the live-action uses more muted colors for Nami’s outfits, it isn’t a big deal since it gives the character a more natural look, making her less cartoonish. Anime exaggerates designs and colors, so minor changes in costumes are expected, especially in colors. Overall, the live-action adaptation of Nami has her signature style, so it remains faithful to the source material.

One PieceSeason2 is expected to debut later this year or in 2026.
