Summary

A new action RPG based on the cult-classicSamurai Pizza Catsanime has just been announced. For those too young to remember,Samurai Pizza Catswas an English localized version ofKyatto Ninden Teyandee(Cat Ninja Legend Teyandee) that was dubbed and produced by Saban Entertainment, the same company that would go on to makePower Rangers, the English dub of the first threeDigimonanime seasons, and many other popular shows of the 90s and early 2000s.

Rather than be a straight translation of its Japanese source material,Samurai Pizza Catsfamously took a more comical approach to its localization, filling the series with improv jokes and pop-culture references that quickly made it a cult favoriteamong 90s anime fans. The show takes place in Little Tokyo, a futuristic city that blends feudal Japanese culture with anthropomorphic cyborg animals. This city is constantly threatened by the Big Cheese and his army of ninja crows, who are always thwarted by the Samurai Pizza Cats - Speedy Cerviche, Polly Esther, and Guido Anchovy.
