The title is nearly unrecognizable when compared to its launch in 2016, with Sean Murray and the rest of the team at Hello Games committed to improving the action-adventure survival game to meet player standards. The teamcontinues to polish the title’s gameplay systems and world, with a newly released patch addressing some issues impacting the game following the launch of update 5.5.

On February 12, Hello Games rolled outNo Man’s Skyupdate 5.055 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, along with update 5.55 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. According to the game’sofficial site, the patch largely addresses bug fixes introduced into the title followingtheNo Man’s SkyWorlds Part 2 update, including a common crash related to memory management and a collision issue impacting biodomes. Additionally, when navigating to the teleporter page, players will now see the closest destination to the mission they have selected as the first entry in the list, making exploration quicker. Several water rendering issues have also been corrected.

Following the release of the PlayStation 5 Pro in late 2024, it was announced thatNo Man’s Skywould feature an 8K modeon Sony’s newest console, only one of three games to do so. Players can explore the cosmos at 7680 x 4320 resolution at 30 FPS or opt for a 4K mode running at 60 FPS, with both options featuring notable graphical upgrades due to the PS5 Pro’s superior hardware. Hello Games developer Martin Griffiths applauded the console at launch, explaining that coding on a new dev kit and seeing his work rendered in a new way was an absolute delight.
