Summary

Fans ofNo Man’s Skycan jump into the game’s latest Titan expedition right now, though many that have already begun the adventure have found their characters dying at record speeds upon initialization thanks to the unforgiving weather conditions of the gas giant that they start on. The new Titan expedition is the 17th community expedition event to come toNo Man’s Sky, and it doesn’t hold back on exposing players to the new features added in the game’s recent Worlds Part 2 update.

Gas giants are now a thing in the universe ofNo Man’s Skycourtesy of the latest major content update, and they’re unlike anything players will have seen before. While not as hazardous as they are in the real universe, in keeping with the sci-fi fantasy style ofNo Man’s Sky’s fictional universe, the game allows players to land and set foot upon these worlds for themselves. Many players tend to gear up with top-end hazard protection upgrades and a Minotaur mech before braving the surface of one of these giants - but the game’s new expedition doesn’t give players that luxury, instead dropping them straight into one of the most hazardous environments in the universe.

On the one hand, this is undeniably an awesome way forNo Man’s Skyto kick off its newest expedition. On the other hand, though, many players are finding themselves swept up by an impossibly huge tornado and thrown hundreds of meters away from their starting point before the initialization animation is complete. One hilarious example was recently shared by the player known as CallMeThiccolas. The clip shows them being thrown by a tornado and immediately bouncing off some hills, with a bug that involves their velocity being conserved by the collision causing them to fly extremely far.

No Man’s Sky’s New Gas Giants Are Some of the Most Dangerous Worlds Players Will Find

With the Titan expedition starting all players off on this gas giant, plenty find themselves in a similar situation when getting started. With the sheerforce ofNo Man’s Sky’s stormsand the little shielding that players start out with, many end up dying before they can even reach their ships. Though some might find this frustrating, it’s no bug - the frequency of such weather events is a legitimate feature on gas giants, so players should ensure to waste no time in getting to their ships when the expedition starts.

On the bright side, though, one of the milestones that players will need to accomplish to complete the Titan expedition involves being picked up by a tornado, so players will at least be able to tick off a challenge and claim its rewards right off the bat if this happens to them. Gas giants are just one of many new features players can enjoy inthe latest version ofNo Man’s Sky, and the latest expedition is sure to help players tour many of these additions.
