Throughout the entireOne Piecestory, fans had been waiting for the moment the Straw Hats would reach the fabled land of the Giants. This is because Little Garden was one of the first arcs in the entire series and introduced fans to Dorry and Brogy, who were legendary warriors from Elbaf that once terrorized the seas as the Giant Warrior Pirates. The story arc regarding the Giants is one that everyone was always excited about.
In the Enies Lobby arc ofOne Piece, however, it was revealed that there are many tribes of Giants across the world, although those from Elbaf are the only known ones for sure. Taking this knowledge along withthe truths revealed in the Elbaf arc, fans have begun to wonder who the King of Elbaf will eventually be, so let’s go over the two most likely candidates for this role.
Story Arc
Elbaf
The most apparent and likely option to be the next King of the Giants is Loki. The biggest reason for this is that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Elbaf since he is the only son of King Harald who had been born to both parents ofthe Elbaf Royal Line. This matters because only those born of pure Elbaf lineage are allowed to take the throne, which is the main reason why Hajrudin has never been able to.
By every metric, Loki has always been the perfect candidate to become the next King of Elbaf, but why has he never been able to do this? The answer is actually quite simple; Loki is certifiably insane and his amazing power and malicious antics have led to him being hated by every member of the country. Ever since he was born, he had been prophesized to be a nightmare to deal with and that misfortune will follow him everywhere he will go, which made the Giants automatically despise him from a young age.

This undoubtedly led to much of Loki’s evil nature and villainous antics, but those were so bad that it led to his capture and imprisonment at the foot of the Adam Tree, where he remains to this day. Most fan theories regarding him state thatdespite his actions in the past, he is actually going to end up being a good guy by the end of the arc and will help the Straw Hats in defeating the forces of the Gods' Knights.
Even in the Elbaf mural from Chapter 1138, a depiction that most believe to be the Final War ofOne Pieceon the left side seems to show a peculiar Giant fighting alongside Luffy. This is mostly thought of as being Loki, so it’s highly likely that he will end up being a good guy. If this is the case, then he will probably be the eventual King of the Giants, but this is something that is still based on speculation and, currently, he is the biggest villain to the residents of Elbaf despite being the rightful heir to the throne.
Dressrosa
The only other likely candidate is Hajrudin, the captain of the New Giant Warrior Pirates who Luffy befriended on Dressrosa. Contrary to the situation that Loki is in, Hajrudin is also a son of King Harald but was born to another woman who belonged to a different tribe of Giants than the ones on Elbaf. Since this fell outside the rules for Hajrudin to become a part of the Royal Lineage, he was never in the running to become the next King after Harald died.
This was against what the Giants of Elbaf wanted, however, since Hajrudin is known and loved by every Giant in the land. In fact, hisgrandest dream is to become the King of the Giantsso he can eventually unite all the warring tribes under his banner, ensuring that all Giants can live proudly. Although he harbors great hatred toward Loki for what he did to his father, the possibility of him becoming the King of Giants is now closer than ever.

For most of its history, Elbaf has been known as a country of warriors, so it’s no secret that the throne is warranted by strength, which, unfortunately, is something that Hajrudin lacks in comparison to Loki. While he is undoubtedly powerful, he could never obtain Elbaf’s legendary Devil Fruit since Loki killed Harald and stole the fruit for himself, which prompted Hajrudin to make his way to Dressrosa to obtainthe power of the Mera Mera no Miin the hopes of becoming strong enough.
Elbaf is in a weird place right now. The true heir to the throne is currently imprisoned and is hated by all of his people for being a scheming and manipulative villain with has an insanely powerful Devil Fruit power. Conversely, the best candidate for the role is someone who isn’t of the Royal Line of Elbaf and is relatively weak compared to his evil half-brother, so the role of King of the Giants is currently up for grabs for whoever can take it.
