Summary
Many ofOverwatch 2’s maps can be exploited in all kinds of creative ways by those knowledgeable enough, but one unlucky D.Va player discovered that it’s possible to become completely stuck behind one particular tree on the Push map, Esperanca. With the map first introduced along with its respective game mode whenOverwatch 2launched in 2022, it’s not exactly new at this point, but clips like this go to show that players can still discover unusual map quirks even years after they’re released.
Though many in the game’s community have been strongly opposed toOverwatch 2’s monetization model, the sequel has delivered much larger amounts of content more frequently than the originalOverwatch. This really goes for just about everything from new cosmetics to maps, and even entirely new heroes.Overwatch 2received a variety of new mapsin 2024, two of which were created to support the game’s new Clash game mode.
AlthoughOverwatch 2’s freshly-released Season 15is packed with new content that brings the game a huge step forward in terms of gameplay, fans haven’t seen any new maps added to the game in 2025 just yet. Even so, an entertaining clip that was recently shared by the player known as French_Taylor demonstrates how players unfortunate enough can actually become permanently trapped behind a tree on Esperanca. In the clip, the player achieved this as baby D.Va by standing behind the tree, located just past one of the bridges near the center of the map, and calling down their mech. Now suited up, they found that their player model was too large to escape from behind the tree.
This Overwatch 2 Player Managed to Escape With Help From The Enemy
The clip even continues to show a funny interaction between the player and the enemy Reinhardt, who attempted to free the D.Va by destroying their mech again. Thankfully, a Lifeweaver was able to use their Petal Platform to lift the D.Va up and allow them to escape. Although getting trapped in this spot has likely been possible since the map was released, all things considered, it isn’t much of an issue since actually getting stuck there is quite difficult. Still, it may be possible for othertanks inOverwatch 2and heroes with large enough hitboxes to become stuck in the same position if somehow falling or being pushed there, potentially via hero abilities such as Lifeweaver’s Life Grip or Roadhog’s ultimate.
Players have found ways to get stuck in some of the game’s other maps in the past, and it’s not unheard of for Blizzard to make smallupdates to certainOverwatch 2mapswhen necessary. If anything, though, this clip serves as a reminder to D.Va players everywhere to mind their surroundings when suiting up.
