A talentedPokemonfan has recently designed Mega Evolutions for the three starters ofPokemon Legends Z-A.Pokemongames traditionally have a Water-type, a Fire-type, and a Grass-type critter as starters, andPokemon Legends Z-Ais the latest game to follow this tradition, using monsters from previous generations to fill this role.

Last month, Chikorita, Tepig, and Totodile wererevealed as the starters of the upcomingPokemon Legends Z-A. The Gen 2 starter Chikorita evolves into Bayleef starting at Level 16, and then into Meganium at Level 32 or higher. Totodile, which also appeared in the same generation, evolves into Croconaw by Level 18, and then Feraligatr after it reaches Level 30. Their companion in the game set in Lumiose City will be the Gen 5 Tepig, which can evolve into Pignite by Level 17, and finally into Emboar after reaching Level 36.

Now, a prolificPokemonfan artist called El-psy-congroo-01 imagined Mega Evolutions for Meganium, Emboar, and Feraligatr due to the upcoming game. Mega Meganium, for example, looks very distinct from its original form by having the flower around its neck become a sort of cape and growing a pair of huge golden antennae. Emboar, on the other hand, has even more fire coming out of its neck, as well as a slightly different skin that looks more like armor and less like clothes. Mega Feraligatr stands out due to it being a quadruped, having even bigger spikes on its back, and possessing dark blue scales. Overall, all of these creatures look like mightier versions of their original counterparts, but still remain clearly identifiable.

Pokemon Fan’s Mega Evolutions of the Three Pokemon Legends Z-A Starters

El-psy-congroo-01 is not the only artist to come up with alternativeMega Evolutions for the starters ofPokemon Legends Z-A. Last week, another fan came up with Mega Evolutions that drastically reimagined Feraligatr, Emboar, and Meganium, transforming them into creatures that resembled a velociraptor, an alpaca, and a melting pot, respectively.

Another recent noteworthy fan art was aMega Evolution for Meganium. This evolution had an original take on the popular critter, changing its skin color to yellow and tweaking the flower on the dinosaur-like monster’s neck to something with bright yellow and pink colors.

Pokemon Legends Z-Awill be released late in 2025, meaning that fans will likely continue to be hyped for the game for a while. It’s expected that other fan artists will come up with even more amazing artworks during this time, as they theorize what kind of changes and Mega Evolutions the new title may bring to the table.
