Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp and then Swampert, and the fan art changes the Pokemon’s serene, blue coat into a darker shade with red fins and a much angrier expression in each. Swampert is the more notable redesign, looking like the amphibian belongs in theMonster Hunterseries.

Mudkip was first introduced in Generation 3 as one of the Hoenn region starters alongside Treecko and Torchic. While the starter is a fairly common Pokemon,players must use a specific feature to obtain Mudkip inPokemon Sword and Shield. Once obtained, however, the water-type unleashes its Torrent and Damp abilities, and the creature remains a favorite, newer starter among fans.
