So far, fans seem to be pretty positive about the sound of this collab. Many fans of both have said that they wish this had become a thing years ago. Some were lamenting that their home teams were left out, with hopes that the partnership might expand to include more. One of the biggest concerns voiced was whether there would be enough support from cellular providers to make it work, as data tends to be slow for many attending the games due to the overall demand. Adding a new data-intensive experience to the games could make matters worse, or see a repeat ofearlyPokemon GOhistorywhere players had difficulty participating in the in-person Pokemon GO Fest due to cell provider problems.

WhyPokemon GOand the MLB chose to partner now is unclear, but it seems like a lot ofPokemonand baseball fanswill be looking forward to the upcoming season even more excitedly than usual.
