During an ongoing Mass Outbreak event announced during Pokemon Day, aPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer made an astonishing discovery. A Reddit user named SchizyJed shared a video on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit of a Shiny Poliwag theyfound in the Fellhorn Gorge of Kitakami. In a spot known for rarely producing level 100 Magikarp, the Shiny Poliwag that SchizyJed encountered was also a level 100 Water creature, making their find all the more extraordinary.

Thankfully, SchizyJed stated that they caught the level 100 Shiny Poliwag and immediately transferred it toPokemon Homeas part of a Shiny Living National Pokedex collection they are making. WhileMass Outbreaks are held periodically inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, the levels of each critter usually range between 10 and 65, depending on the story progress a player has made. Given thatPokemon Scarlet and Violethave a reputation for performance-related issues, some bugs can also help or hinder players during normal gameplay.
In response, some trainers pointed out that Pokemon who appear in Mass Outbreaks can be affected by the level 100 Magikarp spawn data if they appear close enough. SchizyJed added that they did not know if something in the game’s code caused the Shiny Poliwag to show up at level 100.
