A faded image of Budew, the baby form of Roselia, was edited over the card, joining the caption, “Look at how they massacred my boy….” Since Budew is Roselia’s predecessor, Budew should be the Basic card instead of its evolution, highlighting the glaring lack of baby Pokemon in the mobile game, unlikePokemon GOwhich announced a Hatching Day event last year featuring baby monsters.

Infant Pokemon have been in the game for a while and have become popular variants of the already cute pocket monsters, so much so that onePokemonplayer designed baby versions of the legendary Pokemon. The creature in question, Budew, does have a paper card in its baby form, but some Redditors noted that both Budew and Roselia are Basic cards for gameplay purposes in the physical trading card game, existing outwith their evolutions, and it’s likelyPokemon TCG: Pocketis following this method as well instead of including baby versions.
In addition to the sprawling merchandise line accompanying thePokemonIP, including Funko Pops, clothing, and premium plushies, the well-knownBuild-a-Bear company also has a lucrativePokemonline with baby creatures, which includes last year’s addition of the Fighting-type baby Pokemon Riolu. Fans also have Cubone, Jigglypuff, and the different Eevee evolutions to pick up from the bear line, and the cuddly roster is expected to expand throughout 2025.
