As 2025 progresses,Disney Dreamlight Valleyplayers should keep a keen eye on the hit simulation game. After all, Gameloft revealed the game’s free content roadmap for the year back in November 2024. This base game map hints at lots of old school character additions finally coming toDisney Dreamlight Valley, such asAlice in Wonderland.
IfDisney Dreamlight ValleydoesaddAlice in Wonderlandcharacters, it will mark a shift in its character roster. To some, addingAlice in Wonderlandcharacters may seem like any other character addition toDisney Dreamlight Valley’s roster. However, the film itself is quite different from most of the films already included in the game.
Alice in Wonderland is Basically Confirmed for Disney Dreamlight Valley
The second image onDisney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 free content roadmapdepicts the Cheshire Cat, hiding in the shadows of the branches of a tree, his iconic crescent moon grin stretched out wide. If the image itself wasn’t enough, it’s accompanied by a caption that essentially confirms thatAlice in Wonderlandcontent will joinDisney Dreamlight Valley’s base game: “Step into a land of wonder and meet new friends along the way.” While the deliberate use of the phrase “land of wonder” could mean that a Wonderland realm entersDisney Dreamlight Valley, it most likely means that characters from the film will appear in Spring 2025.
Adding characters fromAlice in Wonderlandwill not only be fun for players, but will radically change the landscape ofDisney Dreamlight Valley’s current character roster. All but two characters, Merlin and Fairy Godmother, are either from Pixar films or from Walt Disney Animation Studios filmsfrom the Disney Renaissance and onward.Alice in Wonderlandwas notably released during Disney’s Silver Age in the 1950s. This suggests that Gameloft is aware of the blind spot inDisney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster and is expanding into Disney’s earlier films.
Determining which characters will joinDisney Dreamlight Valleymay seem simple at first, but the film has a surprisingly large cast of characters that Gameloft could pull from. Looking at the game’s history of character additions could help determine the likeliest candidates, however.
These Characters Will Most Likely Fall Down the Rabbit Hole to Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Queen of Hearts
It’s highly likely thatDisney Dreamlight Valleywill go the villainous route. As mentioned previously, only Merlin and Fairy Godmother currently represent the earlier days of Walt Disney Animation Studios. However,Maleficent will be added to the game in Summer 2025through the second chapter of the Storybook Vale DLC. LikeAlice in Wonderland,Sleeping Beautywas also released during Disney’s Silver Age. With the game’s next classic addition being a villain, the Queen of Hearts may also joinDisney Dreamlight Valleyto match Maleficent.
The Cheshire Cat
But the appearance of the Cheshire Cat to tease the addition ofAlice in Wonderlandshouldn’t be swept aside.Disney Dreamlight Valleyhas plenty of talking animalsand the Cheshire Cat would act as another fun and mystical addition. The Cheshire Cat also makes more sense than side characters like the White Rabbit. While the White Rabbit is what Alice chases to go to Wonderland in the first place, the Cheshire Cat has more narrative hold on the story, and he’s generally an icon of the film in pop culture. The cat’s mystical body swapping powers would also make for fun animation and interactions inDisney Dreamlight Valleyin comparison to other characters in the film.
Alice
As the titular character, Alice is obviously the most likely candidate. Her addition toDisney Dreamlight Valleycould be similar to her journey to Wonderland, opening the eyes of players to possibilities in the game that they have yet to consider. Historically speaking, mostDisney Dreamlight Valleyupdates contain two new character additions, so Alice will likely be joined by the Cheshire Cat. Nevertheless, just as Wonderland itself is an unpredictable place, Gameloft may yet have surprises in store forAlice in Wonderlandfans in Spring 2025.
