Naomi Ackie recently graced the cover ofHero Magazine, and she had a conversation with herMickey 17co-star Pattinson for the cover story. During the chat, Ackie mentioned Pattinson being Batman and asked theTwilightstar, “Are you going to do Batman again soon?” Pattinson sounds like they haven’t set a date for when production will begin. “I fg hope so. [laughs] I started out as young Batman and I’m going to be fg old Batman by the sequel,” Pattinson said. The co-stars laughed with Ackie asking him if he was 35 and Pattinson said, “I’m 38, I’m old.” Ackie argued, telling theTenetstar that “38 isn’t old.” Pattinson doubled down on his argument that he was old, but he said he was healthier. “I’m old, but I’m healthier. I think I’ve actually brought my biological age down a bit,” Pattinson added.
During the conversation, Pattinson asked Ackie about the works that stuck with her and inspired her. Ackie mentionedHarry Potter, where Pattinson starred as Cedric Diggory, and then she talked about her dream role and the realization that it didn’t exist until she found it. Then Pattinson shared what he was looking for in a project before landingBatman. “I remember saying for ages that I wanted to do a movie about vengeance, but I could never find it and did all this other stuff that was the total opposite of that, and then suddenlyThe Batmancame up, and the working title was ‘Vengeance’,” Pattinson explained. He added, “It’s something you’re trying to find, but it’s not as specific as you think it is.”
Pattinson’sBatmanstands out from other Dark Knight films because of its grounded storytelling. His intense performance as Bruce Wayne also received approval from fans. However, it seems Matt Reeves and company are not in a hurry to finish the sequel, which has been pushed back twice already. The Batman Part IIwas initially set for release on Jun 15, 2025 before being moved to July 22, 2025, and then to Jun 17, 2025. Since the movie is still two years away, they aren’t keen on starting the production anytime soon. However, in an interview withDeadlinein February, he gave a positive update about the movie. When asked when they would begin shooting theBatmansequel, Pattinson said, “end of the year.” He also admitted that it felt “so long ago” because the film was released three years ago. Hopefully, there will be no delays and the Batman sequel will arrive in 2027 because by then, fans have already waited for five years, which DC Studios co-chairman James Gunn said was “fairly common in sequels.”
The Batman Part IIis expected to hit theaters on Jul 29, 2025.
