Praised Hollywood Live-Action Adaptation
Not everyone is aware thatEdge of Tomorrowis based on a Japanese novel – it is one of those few cases of successful American live-action adaptations of a Japanese series, as both commercial and critical reception were generally positive.
There are significant changes in the movie – one of them is the main character, now called Bill Cage – but the main plot line is the same (and there is a key character called Rita Vrataski).
There has been information about a sequel movie, but no further news has been released since 2016. However, in 2024,Tom Cruise and Warner Bros. signed a deal to co-produce movies, and some speculateEdge of Tomorrow 2might be one of their joint projects (Emily Bluntdoesn’t seem to dislike the idea).
