Reddit user InfiniteNightZ recently shared a video showing off what appears to be Hara-Kiri Fatalities inMortal Kombat 1. These finishing moves were first introduced in2004’sMortal Kombat: Deceptionand have the defeated player cause their own death, literally adding insult to injury. The new video shows the entire roster, minus Liu Kang and Conan the Barbarian, using the animations, which range from horrific to comical. The most interesting part of this new find is that DLC characters also have their own animations, indicating these new finishers will be added in an upcoming update rather than simply being left as cut content.

Mortal Kombat 1 Leak Reveals New Finishing Moves

Hara-Kiri animations, if added to the game, will likely serve as Quitalities, something that wasfirst introduced inMortal Kombat X. These finishing moves only trigger during online play when an opponent exits a match before it is finished. More of these Hara-Kiri animations were uncovered byMortal Kombat 1leaker Interloko and shared on Twitter. While still unconfirmed, the plethora of animations, including ones forMortal Kombat 1’s DLC fighters, makes for compelling evidence for their inclusion in an upcoming update, though Warner Bros. nor NetherRealm have made an official statement.

Quitalities highlightMortal Kombat’s more fantastical side, with the series not shying away from the goofier aspects of its lore, fighting mechanics, and gore over the decades. Alongside Fatalities and Quitalities are Babalities, which transform opponents into infant versions of their character, as well as Friendships, which see the two fighters join together in a violence-less finishing move. Each one ofMortal Kombat 1’s fighters features a wide range of finishing moves and combos to master, with recent additions like Conan and Ghostface offering quite a lot of variety to the overall experience.
