Sakamoto Daysis an interesting case of success. Considering viewership, it could be considered one of the best premieres of a series in the past few years. Netflix numbers suggest that a solid audience has been watching the show since its debut.
On the other hand, a good portion of manga readers — in Japan and internationally — have voiced concerns and complaints about the anime adaptation. Many claim, and they have valid points, thatSakamoto Daysis not living up to the manga’s quality. What this all leads to is a divided fan base ready to turn every new episode into a battleground for heated discussions.
How to Make Sakamoto Days “Better”?
In this scenario, many fans argue over what they think that could turn the anime into an adaptation that everyone enjoys, or something like that. One of them recentlycame up with an interesting idea:Yuki Kaji,Attack on Titan’s Eren voice actor, should join the show: specifically,he should voice Amane Yotsumura:
Give this guy the MAPPA treatment and Eren’s voice actor, and I guarantee he’ll be much more popular than he was in the manga.
Amane isnot a very popular character. Anotherfan replied, stating that he has nice features, but is lacking as a character:
Athird one addedthat there is still time to develop Amane as a character:
I think that he will be developed more in chapters in the future, mainly because of the unresolved problem with his relationship with Yotsumura. Surely, fatherly love will be in the highlight again.
Fans Still Dissatisfied with the Anime
The most recent episode on Netflix Global is Episode 7, but Episode 8 has already debuted on Netflix Japan. Whilethe reception for Episode 7 was generally positive, even for manga fans, Episode 8 was met with a negative reception from manga fans. Although some liked the episode, or, at least, thought it was “decent,” many complained that the pacing was faster than it should be and that the fight featured in the episode is lacking in action.
Some are still hoping that some adjustments will be made in time for the second cour, which will be released in July. However, given the information that recently emerged regarding the production, many are skeptical.
It is likely that the anime will be a controversial topic among fans for a long time. Thecomments on Redditseem to be made mostly by manga fans, and they are generally negative. In contrast, there are lots ofpositive comments on MyAnimeList, even from a few manga readers. That means that, depending on where one looks for comments about the series, the opinions will be completely different.
Who is Amane Yotsumura?

Amane is introduced in Chapter 77, so it will take some time until he appears in the anime. He is a student at the Japan Clear Creation (JCC) and comes from an assassin lineage. His father, Satoru Yotsumura, is one of thefounders of the Order, and he is also one of the best assassins out there.
Amane hates the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA) and wants to avenge his mother, who was killed by his own father. His mother, Shino, was also an assassin.
