In October 2024,Sea of ThievesSeason 14was released with a focus on stealth, giving players new abilities that allowed them to hide themselves from other pirate crews. Those two newweapons inSea of Thievesget some important updates in Season 15, with the grapple gun losing its ability to rotate grappled opponents and the blowpipe needing less time to switch between different types of ammunition. However, the biggest focus of season 15, as its title implies, are the Megalodons, two new massive varieties of aquatic shark monsters that will be terrorizing pirate crews over the course of the current season. The Feared Redmaw can be identified by the fiery rock-like protrusions jutting out of its back and the flames spilling forth from its gullet. Unsurprisingly, it assaults ships using its flame powers, and players will have to pile damage onto it to avoid being hit by an explosion. Meanwhile, the Barnacled Dread sports electric powers and the ability to summon smaller electrical creatures that will spill onto ships' decks, in addition to its coral armor plating.

The new season also puts an emphasis onSea of Thieves' Hunter’s Callfaction with the addition of a broad variety of new quests that can be picked up from the Quest Table. Players can participate in new fishing voyages to acquire Treasured Fish that are worth a lot of gold and reputation when handed over to the trading company, but they’ll have to be careful, because other crews will be able to steal them before the rewards can be acquired. Additionally, Hunter’s Call Raid Voyages gives players an on-demand way to participate in any existing Raids and awards new Hunter’s Call treasure for their completion. There is also now the option to serve as an Emissary for Hunter’s Call.

Of course, the new season also means newSea of Thievesrewards, and players are able to acquire a number of new titles and items as they climb the 100 new levels of Renown and complete the Emissary Ledger. These new rewards include the Hungering One Hunter’s clothing set and the Inaugural Explorer and Hunter’s Call Inaugural Forager sails, though players won’t be able to pick up any Emissary Ledger rewards until March 1.
