Reddit user mobilesuitzetagundam shared a brief video of their experience playingSkyrimand having a Flame Atronach explode at just the right moment. The video begins with the player and their stalwart NPC companion Lydia in the midst of a fight with both a Flame Atronach and a Forsworn Looter. The two pairs duel for a moment, with the player successfully finishing off theFlame Atronachjust before delivering the killing blow to the Forsworn Looter. The timing worked out perfectly, with a killcam taking place just as the player stabs through the Forsworn’s torso, and the defeated Flame Atronach exploding, with flames engulfing the area at the exact same time.

Flame Atronach Creates Cinematic Moment in Skyrim

Many players have commented on the post, expressing how impressive the scene is, especially since it happened spontaneously. Some have suggested that the moment seems like something a game might use as promotional footage because it’s just that cool. Others have pointed to the amusing reality of the scene, though, as Lydia is seen standing at the end of the clip with most of her health depleted from being in the fight and then set on fire by theFlame Atronach’s explosion. It seems some fellow Dragonborn have also experienced something similar, though others have said they’ve gone over a thousand hours without a moment this cool happening to them.

Even without modding,Skyrimstill has the capability to impress and surprise players after all of these years. With no significant updates from Bethesda onThe Elder Scrolls 6,Skyrimwill likely have to hold out for a few more years before its successor arrives. Thankfully, many fans are still perfectly happy to be exploring the world of Tamriel throughSkyrim’s lens.
