Developer Hi-Rez Studios has launchedSmite 2’s Open Beta 4 update, introducing a reimagined version of Artemis from the previous game, along with a new lineup of Cross-Gen and Classic skins. Smite 2serves as a sequel to the original third-person MOBAdeveloped by Hi-Rez Studios,Smite, which introduced a twist to the genre. Moving away from the classic top-down perspective of MOBA games,Smiteadded new possibilities and a whole new feel to the gameplay. Building on this,Smite 2offers a graphically enhanced gameplay experience that keeps everything that made the original game successful while introducing dynamic maps, upgraded character models, new animations, and more. TheSmite 2open beta is already available, and the developer has added more content for players.

Much likethe previousSmite 2update, Hi-Rez has introduced everything from new gods to skins and gameplay changes across several aspects of the game. A highlight of the update is Artemis, a reimagined version of the Goddess from the original game, now available inSmite 2. Artemis deals physical damage with her ranged basic attacks and has a passive skill that allows her to deal 15% more damage to gods and 30% more to minions affected by Crowd Control. Additionally, she has a couple of new features, such as detecting nearby enemy gods in stealth grass and gaining new charges for her Vengeful Assault ability every time she hits an enemy god with basic attacks.

Moreover,classicSmiteskinsare rolling into the sequel, including Foxy Amaterasu, Baron Frostchild Ymir, and La Roca Hercules, along with Cross-Gen skins such as Summer Fun Medusa, Hellforged Thor, Lil Bites Sobek, and Nano-Mancer Baron Samedi. A new aspect, Thor Thunderstruck, has also been added to the game. The patch has updated several face models, including Aphrodite, Achilles, and Phantom Seas Poseidon.

In addition to this, a new Featured Store is available, where players can see all the skins released in each patch. A new Scoreboard QOL feature which allows players to read gods' details more easily has also been included, along with a couple of additional UI enhancements.

There are also gameplay changes affecting Titans, Minotaurs, and Arena. A new feature for Assault called Team Bench has also been included in the patch, letting players see previously ownedSmite 2godsafter re-rolling and allowing teammates to change their current pick with gods from the bench. The update also addressed issues with quality-of-life features, Conquest, gods, and more. As players jump into the game after this new patch,Smite 2has plenty of new content to offer.
