Even though the sequel series is about Sung Suho, and without a doubt, he is a well-written andstrong protagonist, the entire fandom can’t stop but crave to see Sung Jinwoo in the sequel series. At the beginning of the series, it’s confirmed that Sung Suho grew up without his parents by his side. Yes, it means that our beloved Sung Jinwoo is missing in theRagnarokseries, which begs the question for the new readers: is Jinwoo alive in theSolo Levelingsequel series? If yes, where exactly is he?
Sung Jinwoo Is In Outer Space Fighting The Itarim
He Is Fighting This Threat Along With Other Rulers
Solo Leveling Ragnaroktakes us a few years ahead of the original series, and the first character we get introduced to is Jinwoo’s son, Sung Suho. Sung Suho is ayoung and compassionate boywho always stands up for what is right, a characteristic more than fitting for Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In’s child. While new readers are more than happy to see Sung Suho starting off the series, everyone can’t help but expect Jinwoo to make an appearance.
Initially, we learn that bothSung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-Inmysteriously disappearedone day, leaving Sung Suho without any answers. For years, Sung Suho continued on with his life without any knowledge of what happened to his parents. However, everything starts to change whenmysterious Gates start to appearall over the world. At the same time, some people from across the world awaken mysterious powers to fight off the monsters inside these Gates or Dungeons. Sung Suho doesn’t awaken any sort of powers at the start, and hecontinues to live on as a normal human being. However, he unleashes some hidden powers after a couple of years while protecting a girl from some beasts.
On the same day, Beru, the Ant King, also appears in front of Sung Suho. Immediately after seeing Ant King, Suho experiences a rush of memories from his childhood, which, along with his powers, were suppressed by Jinwoo. At that moment, Ant King confirms thatSung Jinwoo is very much alive, but he is in outer space fighting the Outer Gods.
My mother used to always tell me that I was becoming like my father quite well…so how would he have escaped this feeling of helplessness…?? - Sung Suho.
Beru answers a lot of questions for Suho, including the fact that the boy has already significantly leveled up after using The System years ago.Jinwoo suppressed these powers and their memory to let the boy lead a normal life. However, the ongoing war between Jinwoo and the Itaris Gods has somehow opened the Gates all over Earth. So, Jinwoo sends Ant King back to Earth and commands his Shadow Soldier to awaken Suho’s powers. In short, Jinwoo wants his child to become strong enough to defend the Earth in his absence.
That being said, there was one question that even Beru couldn’t answer: the whereabouts of Suho’s mother, Cha Hae-In. Interestingly, even Jinwoo and Beru didn’t know that Cha Hae-In disappeared the same day Jinwoo left Earth. Beru wonders if it was the Outer Gods that had something to do with Cha Hae-In’s disappearance. Now, in Jinwoo’s absence, theresponsibility of finding Cha Hae-In lies on Suho’s shoulders.
Jinwoo Is TheOnlyOpposing Force That Can Defend Earth Against The Itarim
The Itarim Race Wants To Conquer Earth For Its Unlimited Mana
The Itarim Gods are thebeings that existed before time, and it’s the same race from which the Absolute Being descended. Like the Absolute Being, these Gods created their respective worlds and made their own creations fight each other for nothing but entertainment. Earth catches the attention of every Outer God after the Absolute Being’s death at the hands of the Rulers. For them,Earth is an unclaimed world that yields unlimited mana; that is why every Itarim is desperate to conquer the planet.
When the Rulers realize that the entire Itarim race is after Earth, they collectively attempt to fight off these celestial entities. However, while they killed one Outer God (the Absolute Being inSolo Leveling) before, they stand absolutely no chance against multiple Itarim Gods. Fortunately for them, Jinwoo joins the fight withhis Shadow Army. So, you could say that only Jinwoo isstrong enoughto defend the Earth from the Itarim race. However, Jinwoo can’t return to Earth while fighting this war. That is whywe see him only through Suho’s memoriesinSolo Leveling Ragnarok. Of course, Jinwoo is mentioned multiple times in the series by Beru, and Suho does meet an illusion or image of his father, but it’s hard to say when we’ll see the father and son actually reuniting in the story.
