Summary
Developer Massive Entertainment has put out a strange new patch forStar Wars Outlawson all platforms. Prior to being released back in August,Star Wars Outlawswas one of the most highly anticipated AAA video games of 2024, largely due to it being the first ever open-worldStar Warsgame. However, it quickly became one of the most divisive titles of the year after it came out, with some players disliking the game’s heavy emphasis on stealth.
DespiteStar Wars Outlaws' rocky reception at launch, Ubisoft has committed to supporting the game with a number of post-launch updates and story DLC. The game’s Sabaac-focused Wild Card DLC was quietly rolled out in November, andStar Wars Outlawshas a second DLC plannedto release sometime this Spring, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. On the patches and updates front, by far the biggest post-launch change that’s been implemented inStar Wars Outlawsis the removal of insta-fail during the game’s many stealth-focused missions, appeasing gamers who much rather prefer to run and gun.
Now, near the tail end ofStar Wars Outlaws' current roadmap, developer Massive Entertainment has gone ahead and put out another small update for all platforms. Title Update 1.5.2 is tiny, only taking up a handful of GB across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC, and has a very small list of changes. On PC, the update fixes a pair of problems with fog and clouds that relate to ray reconstruction. As for PlayStation gamers, a bug that causes the game to crash while using photo mode has been resolved.
Strangely,Star Wars Outlaws’Title Update 1.5.2 patch notes don’t mention any fixes for the Xbox version of the game at all, despite that version of the update weighing in heavier than its PC and PS5 counterparts, at nearly 4 GB. At the bottom of the patch notes, Massive Entertainment adds that it’s aware of another bug that’s preventing players from taking off into space while inKay’s ship The Trailblazer, and that fans should expect a fix for the issue in a future update. For now, players who encounter the issue should be able to reload a manual save as a temporary band-aid solution.
AlthoughStar Wars Outlawsis nearing the end of its Season Pass roadmap, the final item on the list is itsA Pirate’s Fortune story DLC, which has yet to be given a release date by Ubisoft or Massive Entertainment. Fans should keep an eye onStar Wars Outlaws’s social media for more info about the expansion. Perhaps the game’s roadmap will be extended this summer as the game approaches its one-year anniversary in August.
