How Does the Lost Item Shop Work in Stardew Valley?

The Lost Item Shop was one of the highlights ofStardew Valley’s recent 1.6.9 update. With this new feature, players can now get back their lost items whether they passed out in mines or simply threw them away accidentally.

To recover a lost item,Stardew Valleyfans will have to make their way tothe Secret Woods region. Once you lose something, the shop will appear there as a crow. When you get to the Secret Woods, you will need to keep going left until you reach a big statue with some columns around it. Behind the column on the right, players will see acrow with red eyes. Interact with it to open the Lost Item Shop.

Before you head to the Secret Woods, make sure you have a Steel Axe. There’s a big fallen log that blocks the way, andStardew Valleyplayers will need the axe to clear it. If you don’t have one yet, you canupgrade your axe. It’s the third Blacksmith upgrade.

And just to quickly mention, the feature only works for items you can’t get again through normal gameplay. So if you don’t see the option to recover something, it’s probably because the item isn’t covered by this feature. Furthermore, the shop will show up the next day, so players won’t be able to retrieve an item right away.

If you are playing in multiplayer, your friends can help by retrieving your lost item too. And don’t worry because the crow NPC isn’t going anywhere as long as the item is still missing. Getting your item back isn’t cheap, though. It will cost the player10,000 Gold, but that’s a small price to pay for something rare you might never find again.
