This may lead to some players wanting to troll Pam, and it seems this could be a good way of doing it.
Reddit user Ok-Extent-2500 shared their accidental discovery that they had found a way to trap Pam in her own trailer home. An image shows Pam mostly obscured by a large fish tank that’s been set down directly in front of where she sleeps for the night. According to Ok-Extent-2500, she generally can’t budge from this spot so long as the fish tank is there, and it had the unintended effect of their co-op partner not being able to go to the desert for several in-game days, as Pam wasn’t showing up to drive the bus. Pam’s location can apparently reset due to things like festivals, but for the most part, she can’t move from there if theStardew Valleyfish tankis placed in front of it.
Stardew Valley Fans Share Amusement Over Pam’s Plight
Fellow gamers have been cracking up at this discovery. Generally, aStardew ValleyNPC will walk through any object that’s in their way after enough time passes, often destroying it in the process. For whatever reason, it seems that Pam can’t do that with the fish tank, or perhaps any large item placed directly in front of the sleeping spot inPam’s trailer. Ok-Extent-2500 theorized that because the tank is taking up the spot where she spawns as a freely roaming NPC, the usual mechanic of an NPC crashing through anything in their way may not be taking effect as intended.
Technically, this could be seen as a bug and might be something that gets patched out in afutureStardew Valleyupdate. However, it’s unlikely to bother anyone, as players would have to intentionally place the fish tank at the right time to achieve it. Instead of being annoyed by the existence of this odd discovery, players are instead theorizing how they could make use of it elsewhere. For example, players have wondered if it’s possible to trapMarniein her shop, so that she’s available to shop with every day. Players often get frustrated when she wanders out of her store, whether for her weekly aerobics or otherwise, so some mischievous players might be able to find a way to utilize this to prevent that from happening.
