2025 Could Be a Big Year for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Gaming

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Have Just Appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

A few weeks ago, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made theirCall of Dutydebut, and set a new bar for the game’s crossover events. For around $20 each, fans could unlock Operator skins based on all four Turtles, along with a handful of Weapon Blueprints and additional cosmetics inspired by the franchise.

TheseTMNTTracer Packs were accompanied by an Event Pass. ThislatestCall of Duty: Warzone/Black Ops 6Event Passincludes both a paid and free track, with the free track netting players two Foot Clan skins, a skateboard melee weapon, and some otherTMNTcosmetics, and the premium track giving them a Master Splinter Operator skin, a Splinter-specific finisher, and an impressive total of five Weapon Blueprints.

A handful ofTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired game modesare also available, including “TMNT Moshpit” forCall of Duty: Black Ops 6’s multiplayer, which allows players to use special superhero abilities and Scorestreaks modeled after each Turtle, and “Cowabunga Cranked” forBlack Ops 6Zombies, a chaotic countdown timer mode.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are on PlayStation Plus

Another big win for theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesfranchise, and for fans of it, is that theTMNT: Cowabunga Collectionis now available forfree via PlayStation Plus Essential. This collection brings together 13 individualTMNTgames that were originally released between 1989 and 1994, including the beloved arcade games and some NES/SNES classics.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Could Take Their Cameo Tour to Fortnite and Rocket League Next

Back in February of last year, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their archnemesis Shredder dropped ontoFortnite’s ever-changing island. A recent leak from SamLeakss on Twitter suggests thatFortnitecould be getting ready to dip its toes into the ooze once again, this time hosting a shared event across both the Battle Royale andRocket Leaguein which players can earn the Turtles' Party Wagon. It’s also been rumored this event will bring a handful ofnewTMNTskinstoFortnite, including characters like Casey Jones, Bebop, and Rocksteady.

A Video Game Adaptation of a Beloved TMNT Comic is on its Way

Back in August 2023, avideo game adaptation ofTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Roninwas announced by publisher THQ Nordic. For those unaware,The Last Roninis a five-issue comic miniseries that came out between October 2020 and April 2022, detailing the last remaining Turtle’s quest to avenge the death of his three brothers.

Given thatTMNT: The Last Roninwas only announced in August 2023, and that it’s reportedly aiming to be a fully-fledged AAA game, it seems unlikely fans will get to play it this year. However, it’s possible they’ll get to see a trailer by the end of 2025.
