However, unlike previous expansions that primarily focused on family life or social interactions,Lovestruckis all about the personal and emotional journeys of love, making it a must-have for players who want deeper storytelling in their Sims’ romantic lives.
Everything New In A Nutshell
Ciudad Enamorada is the new world introduced inThe Sims 4: Lovestruck, embodying a vibrant and romantic atmosphere perfect for Sims looking to experience love in all its forms. Inspired by lively, passion-filled cities - primarily of Latin architecture and design, Ciudad Enamorada blends charming architecture with scenic spots designed for intimate moments. Whether strolling on a date in picturesque parks or visiting new and attractive places to find new love interests, this world is built to enhance the romantic interactions introduced in the expansion.
In total,Ciudad Enamorada consists of 13 lots, with 9 being residential, one of which is rental and 4 being community spaces—including a gym, park, lounge and nightclub. Several lots are home to pre-existing Sims, some of whom have their own love stories (and drama) for players to uncover. However, there are also available homes and an empty lot for players to move in and fully experience the world’s romantic charm with their own Sims. Players will also find a unique rabbit hole, namely Beso Rapido - a love motel that can be used to just sleep or to do a WooHoo interaction. Moreover, as players explore the city, they may discover a unique hidden quest, which revolves around the Ring Bear

Sims can now ask deeper questions about romance, such as inquiring about a potential partner’s Personality, Physical, or Romance Style Attraction to see if they are truly compatible. They can also assess their romantic satisfaction, seek Cupid’s Counseling for relationship advice, and even work on their Relationship Dynamic to strengthen their bond. Dates feel more interactive with options like Asking to Change Venue, Extend the Date, or End it Cheerfully (or Abruptly), giving players greater control over how their Sim’s date can unfold. With additional flirty actions such as Seductive Dance, Tenderly Kiss Neck, and Whisper About Desires, Sims now have more ways to express their affections, making romance inLovestruckricher, more engaging, and full of personality. Gift giving, in form of Box of Chocolates is also another interaction that players should be checking out.
While these aren’t necessarily interactions, there are alsotwo new types of deaths, one by having a broken heart, and other by choking.
Attraction, Romantic Satisfaction and Romance Dynamics
Attraction, Romantic Satisfaction, and Romantic Dynamics are the core interaction-based features introduced inThe Sims 4: Lovestruck, each playing a major role in shaping how relationships develop between Sims. These systems directly influence chemistry, emotional fulfillment, and the overall dynamic between partners, making romance feel more nuanced and personalized.
In addition to these major features,Lovestruckalso introduces smaller but meaningful improvements, such as the ability to change a relationship’s label. This allows Sims to define their connections more precisely, adding another layer of depth to storytelling and relationship management.
Attraction System
The attraction system introduces a new way for Sims to experience romance by adding Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs that shape their preferences. The system builds upon the Likes and Dislikes feature, allowing Sims to develop personal preferences when it comes to romance. Typically, personality factors play a more important role than physical traits like fashion sense. Sims who are in a relationship that aligns with their Turn-Ons, love language, and personal preferences will generally have high satisfaction, while those in mismatched or neglected relationships may feel unfulfilled.
Sims can directly ask their partner about Romantic Satisfaction to gauge how things are going. If a Sim is unhappy, they might express a desire for more affection, deeper emotional connection, or even a change in relationship dynamics. To improve satisfaction, Sims can engage in meaningful romantic interactions, plan special dates, or even seek Cupid’s Counseling for advice on rekindling the spark. Overall, Romantic Satisfaction will directly impact the Romance level between the Sims, and can similarly decay overtime. Ignoring dissatisfaction for too long may lead to negative moodlets, relationship struggles, or even autonomous breakups, making this feature an essential part of managing love and romance in Lovestruck.

These dynamics also affect moodlets, meaning Sims will react differently to relationship milestones or struggles depending on their dynamic.

At level 8, the career branches into two specializations:MatchmakerandRelationship Counselor. TheMatchmakerbranch focuses on setting Sims up for success in the dating scene, requiring the Sim to have Romance and Charisma skills. Relationship Counselor branch on the other hand, deals with strengthening existing relationships, resolving conflicts, and guiding Sims through breakups or reconciliations, and needs Sims to have Logic and Romance skills instead. Progressing in the career unlocks unique interactions, CAS items and career objects.
Cupid’s Corner
TheCupid’s Cornerapp is a new matchmaking and dating platform inThe Sims 4: Lovestruck, bringing a modern approach to finding romance. Inspired by real-life dating apps, it allows Sims to create a profile, browse potential matches, and set up dates—all within a limited number of swipes per day. Each profile displays a Sim’s name, picture, select traits, age group, and their home world, giving players insight into potential partners before deciding whether to connect. If a Sim finds someone intriguing, they can add them to their contacts or immediately arrange a date to explore their chemistry further.
One ofCupid’s Corner’sCupid’s Corner’s most exciting featuresmost exciting features is its ability to introduce Sims beyond those already existing in the world. Sims can improve theirRomance Skillin multiple ways, from performing romantic interactions naturally to reading skill books, taking lessons, or practicing in front of a mirror. Since romance is a common part of everyday Sim life, many Sims will develop this skill gradually over time. However, it’s particularly beneficial for those pursuing theRomance Consultantcareer or working toward new romance-focused aspirations, as higher levels provide unique advantages in matchmaking, relationship counseling, and seduction.
New Aspirations
The Sims 4: Lovestruckintroduces two new aspirations under theLovecategory, being Paragon Partner and Romantic Explorer, allowing Sims to pursue different approaches to romance.
Paragon Partner
Paragon PartnerParagon Partner aspirationaspiration focuses on building and maintaining the perfect relationship (multiple times) emphasizing commitment, and deep emotional connections despite requiring multiple romantic partners. Sims with this aspiration need to have very satisfied relationships, meaning that they’ll need to focus on strengthening bonds, expressing devotion, and ensuring long-term romantic satisfaction. Completing this aspiration rewards Sims with unique relationship perks, making it easier to maintain harmony and romance in their partnerships.
Reward:Affection Aficionado Reward trait. Sims with this reward trait have much slower decrease on Romantic Satisfaction, making it quite easy to maintain high relationships with romantic partners with much less effort.
Romantic Explorer
TheRomantic Explorer aspirationoffers a more extensive journey compared to Paragon Partner, featuring multiple levels of milestones that take longer to complete. However, despite its length, the individual goals are relatively straightforward, allowing Sims to progress quickly if they remain active in their love life. Sims pursuing this aspiration will need to experience a variety of romantic relationships, improve their Romance Skill, and perform numerous romantic interactions to deepen their understanding of attraction and connection. Essentially, it can be completed at the same time as Paragon Partner, as the interactions done in Romantic Explorer can help Sims have Very Satisfied Relationships required for Paragon Partner.
Reward:Seasoned Romantic Reward trait. Sims with this reward trait have an easier time building Romance with other Sims, and will have Embarrassed moodlets go away faster.

The pack introduces two traits for Human Sims which conflict with each other. Their in-game descriptions are as follows:

Whether creating cozy cafés, stylish lounges, or intimate getaway spots, players can use a variety of detailed furnishings, lighting, and decor with multiple swatches to set the perfect mood for any romantic setting.
