Tony Hawk Announcement Teased in New Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update
On February 20,Call of Duty: Black Ops 6received its highly anticipated Season 2 Reloaded update. While there were plenty of bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and weapon adjustments, there was also plenty of new content added to the game. From a crossover with theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesto brand new modes, Season 2 Reloaded has plenty for fans to check out. What the community wasn’t expecting to find was a potential announcement date for somethingTony Hawk’srelated. As spotted by CharlieIntel, Grind, which is a remastered map fromBlack Ops 2and set inside a skate park, features theTony Hawk’slogo with the date May 14, 2025, hinting that a big announcement is on the way.
While Activision owns bothCall of Dutyand theTony Hawk’sfranchise, fans were taken aback to see the easter egg in aBlack Ops 6map. However, an announcement relating to theTony Hawk’sseries shouldn’t be all that surprising, as rumors have already been circulating on a potential remaster or remake for quite some time. Earlier this week, professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones revealed that he was going tobe in a remaster ofTony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Given that the first two games have already received remakes, it’s possible thatPro Skater 3and4will be next to receive the same treatment.
Prior to Jones' comment on another remake, Tony Hawk himselfcelebrated the 25th anniversary ofPro Skaterby teasing fans with a cryptic message regarding the future of the franchise. In a lengthy Instagram post, Hawk talked about how thePro Skaterfranchise had changed the course of skateboarding’s popularity before going on to say that he wasn’t allowed to tease anything but that there “will be a future” forTony Hawk’s Pro Skater. After all the teases and rumors, fans will finally get to see what’s in store for the franchise on March 4.
