Another title is now getting close to expandingTT Games’LEGOportfolio, according to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier. Speaking during the latest episode of theKinda Funny Gamescast, the industry insider fielded a viewer question about TT Games, which saw him claim that the British studio will have a newLEGOtitle coming in the near future. “I believe it’s for next year,” Schreier said around the 50:20 mark of the February 26 podcast episode. He then added that he might be misremembering and that the game is actually slated for 2025, before ultimately reiterating that—based on his recollection—a 2026 release window is more likely.

Schreier has already mentioned TT Games' nextLEGOproject on February 7, as part of awider report detailing various issues at WB Games, including the alleged reboot of Monolith Productions’Wonder Womangame—which has since been canceled after its developer was closed. However, his latestKinda Funny Gamescastappearance marked the first occasion on which the long-time insider narrowed down the unannounced project’s release window.

Why Has TT Games' Output Slowed Down?

Since its 2005 beginnings, TT Games has averaged more than 1.5 game releases per year. However, its output has slowed down considerably since 2019, with the company releasing just one game over the five and a half years that followed. This downturn can be attributed to multiple factors, both macro and company-specific. For one, game development cycles have gotten noticeably longerin the post-pandemic era for a variety of reasons, so TT Games' decreasing output can be seen as in line with industry trends.

An exacerbating circumstance for TT Games is that the company lost a lot of talent in 2021, including founder Jon Burton and design head Arthur Parsons. Both of them went on to found 10:10 Games, which recently released its first title in the form of the 2024Funko Fusion. According to LinkedIn data reviewed by Game Rant, 24 other TT Games employees followed Burton and Parsons to 10:10 Games. While that only amounted to around 6% of the company’s workforce at the time, the loss was still significant because it mostly consisted of senior talent jumping ship—something that’s bound to throw a wrench in any developer’s operations.
