Summary
WhileTwisted MetalSeason 1 was all about Anthony Mackie’s John Doe cruising around the country and fighting against a whole cast of outlandish characters, Season 2’s new teaser illustrates that the joyride is about to officially be over for everyone in theTwisted MetalPeacock series. And while it appears the scope of the show’s second season will be smaller, that doesn’t mean there won’t be plenty of fun to be had.
The first season ofTwisted Metalhad Mackie’s characterworking as what is referred to as a Milk Man. This is essentially a courier who does odd jobs for the various cities and settlements in a post apocalypse America where a massive computer virus basically ended life as everyone knew it. Eventually, the Milk Man, who didn’t remember his own history and went simply by John Doe runs into a romantic love interest in Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) and a killer clown that Twisted Metal fans certainly recognized at once as the former mental patient, Sweet Tooth (Will Arnett and Samoa Joe).
Twisted Metal Season 2 Looks To Up The Ante
On Thursday morning, a new tease trailer was released by Peacock that details how the new season will pick up after theend of Season 1where Doe finds out that an errand he was running that he thought was a ticket to a new life, was actually just a test to see if he could handle himself in the Twisted Metal tournament. Based on the teaser, that will be a large part of the new season.
The video starts with a voice over where theCaptain America: Brave New Worldstartalks about all the crazy stuff that’s going to go down inTwisted MetalSeason 2. It also shows that there will still be some familiar faces but brand-new ones as well and it appears in the short glimpses that are shown that most will be easily recognizable as more characters from the original video game franchise the Peacock series is based on. The official synopsis sheds a bit more light and adds some context to the action unfolding in the teaser:
“Following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly Twisted tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they attempt to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike,including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.”
Starring
Finding the sister he didn’t know he’d lost until very late in the game is just one of the reasons why the stakes are plenty high for John. The winner of the Twisted Metal tournament is to be rewarded with a wish. They can ask for anything they like. The problem is that Doe willhave to fight off 16 other driversin order to get his heart’s greatest desire. In addition to the new teaser,Twisted MetalSeason 2 confirmed a release window of sometime this summer, with an official date likely not far off.
