Great time to be a steampunk-style anime fan as a new competitor is in town! A brand-new original film series that gives the vibes of the 80s,Virgin Punk, is set for its release. Directed by Yasuomi Umetsu, best known for directing movies such as Kite and Mezzo Forte, the animated series in preparation for Shaft Studios is guaranteed to be a cinematic piece. The first element of this campaign will be the movie namedClockwork Girl, which is planned to be shown on May 26, 2025, at Cine Libre Ikebukuro in Tokyo and Theater Umeda in Osaka.
In the steampunk world of theClockwork Girl, we meet Ubu, a hunter who will die for her work in a world full of chaos, passion and grief. It unfolds a dramatic account of her life and reveals the struggles and opposites that she faces in her current life. To this day, details about the show’s plot are scarce. However, since the narrative is being crafted by Yasuomi Umetsu and Shaft is behind the animation, the audiencewill most likely witness another great showwith an interesting plot and fantastic artwork.
