Strangled Adrais a unique point of interest inAvowed.These specialAdra Waystonesare similar to those found inAvowed’s Party Campsand allow the Envoy to converse directly with one of the game’s most important NPCs. However, while the normal Waystones seem to be filled with pure Essence, the Strangled Adra appears to be suffering from a mysterious malady. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find all five Strangled Adra inAvowedand reveal the rewards you’ll collect when locating them.

Where to Find the Strangled Root in Dawnshore – Avowed
The first Strangled Root the Envoy encounters inAvowedis located very close to Dawnshore’s exit. Because of this, many players will either miss it in their excitement to move on to the Emerald Stair, or encounter it just before leaving the area.
However, other than the difficulty level of nearby enemies, there is nothing stopping you from locating the first Strangled Adra anytime you’d like.
Visit the Precarious Hold:
To reach the first Strangled Adra inAvowed,you’ll want to head to the large gate that leads to the Emerald Stair. This is located in the southeastern corner of Dawnshore, in a region called theSouthern Embrace.
Standing at the base of the ramp that leads up to the massive gate, you’ll want to turn left and keep an eye to the right where all the thorny vines are. Just past the vines, you’ll see the entrance to a cave. Enter the cave, then head to the back and make a left up the stairs. At the end of the path, you’ll encounter a large bramble directly above you. Use Kai’s fire ability, or if you have a fire weapon like theLast Light of Day, simply attack the bramble.
Climb up into the next chamber, open the door ahead of you, and you will find yourself in a large puzzle chamber. In front of you will be a lever and door powered by three Essence Generators. Luckily, you won’t need any electric items yet, as the lever takes care of the charges. For this puzzle, you simply need to burn the bramble blocking the Essence Generator on the right. If you happened to getCaeroc’s Pridefrom the Tempestuous Luandi bounty, you can use it to just shoot the Essence Generators.
Head through the door once it opens, then turn right on the balcony and follow the path into the jail area. Inside, you’ll find a second door puzzle. Turn around at the lever and burn the bramble off the wall to clear the machine that shoots electricity. Once that’s done, burn the bramble in the middle of the wall on the right side. Enter the next chamber, and you’ll see a red explosive barrel and a breakable wall. Destroy the wall, then return and pull the lever.
As the door opens, you’ll find the first Strangled Adra outside. Interacting with the Strangled Adra will earn you oneAdrafor upgrades, and a conversation withThe Voice.
Where to Find the Strangled Adra in Emerald Stair – Avowed
Strangled Adra 2:
Thesecond Strangled Adra inAvowedis much easier to reach once you find the general vicinity. The area you want to reach is just south of the Grim Wetlands and theSunken Village. It is also just west of theOvergrown Godless Towerin western Emerald Stair.
If you visit the location shown on the map, you’ll see a massive rock with multiple trees growing out of it. If you look up and at the higher ledges, you should be able to make out the second Strangled Adra.
If you are starting facing the rock mountain, head around to the left side, near the tree that is sticking out at an angle. On the other side of the tree, you’ll see a ledge that you’re able to climb that will take you up to the Strangled Adra. This interaction will earn you oneAwakened Adra.
Where to Find the Strangled Adra in Shatterscarp – Avowed
Strangled Adra 3:
The third Strangled Adra inAvowedis located in the Great Sand Sea, on a massive rock structure calledBroken Crown Rock.You can reach the area from any direction, but the easiest route is coming in from the west.
As you approach, you’ll see that there is a path directly through the center of the structure. Head through the tunnel, then turn right through the small pool of water. At the end of the pool you’ll see a path up the rock. It’s easy to go the wrong direction, so make sure to climb thefirst three ledges, then turn around and jump across the gap you just climbed up to the next ledge.
After crossing the gap, continue to the alcove covered in webs. Look at the bottom of the rock wall, and you’ll see a small hole you can crawl through that leads to one more jump across a large gap. The third Strangled Adra is on the ledge you jump to.
Where to Find the Strangled Adra in Galawain’s Tusks – Avowed
Strangled Adra 4:
Thefourth Strangled Adra inAvowedis another that requires very little work to reach, once you know where to look. In this case, the massive crystal sits in the heart of a Xaurip camp, so you’ll likely have to fight your way to your next interaction withThe Voice.
The camp you must find is located in the southern portion of theSallow Steppe. It’s actually very close to Galawain’s Tusks' starting point, which we’ll point out on the image of the map.
Once you are in the camp, the Strangled Adra is very hard to miss perched atop a rocky ledge. Use the rock platforms to climb up, then interact with the Adra to receive anAdra Ban.
Where to Find the Strangled Adra in The Garden – Avowed
Strangled Adra 5:
The fifth and final Strangled Adra can be found very close to theSarcophagus Key in the Garden. Start from the round pool of water that you will encounter not long after exiting the Maelgfolc Graveyard through the large puzzle door. You’ll know you’re almost there when you see the massive chain link attached to the ground in front of the door.
From the round pool, head through the exit at the back of the chamber, which takes you into another pool of water. Dive through the underwater cave, butstay to the left.When you come up, you’ll see a small ledge on the left that you may climb up. From the ledge, you’ll see a bramble blocking the exit, so use any type of fire weapon or grenade (of Kai’s companion ability) to get through.
After the bramble is burned, you’ll need tocreate a patch of frozen waterto cross the rest of the pool, then exit through the newly opened exit. Make your way to the end of the tunnel, then turn left onto the small ledge. Do not jump off the end of the path. After turning left, you’ll see theStrangled Adrajust ahead.
