Crime isn’t exactly at the forefront ofKingdom Come: Deliverance 2’sgameplay, but it’s always an option for players who want to do less-than-honorable playthroughs. Stealing things, whethere they’re from someone’s pockets or coffers, is a quick and relatively easy way to get some valuables, but players will need to know how to do either of those before they can start pilfering homes and innocent villagers.

Picking pockets and cracking open chests is all in a day’s work for a thief, but much like Alchemy or eventhe simple act of saving inKCD 2, neither of these are as simple to do as in other games. Here’s a quick guide showing you how to pickpocket people and how to find and use lockpicks.

Lockpicking minigame in KCD2

How to Pickpocket in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

To steal from someone’s pockets, you need to crouch down and interact with your victims' belts. A “Rob” button prompt will appear in the bottom right of the screen once you’re in the right position, and pressing it will start a pickpocketing minigame, which has two phases:

Basically, you first need to determine how long you want to spend ruffling through someone’s pockets. Then, you need to manually discover which items you want to steal, and leave before the victim finds out what you’re doing. Picking an item from your victim will reduce your pickpocketing timer, so take only the most valuable items.

You need to be hidden or unnoticed in order to pickpocket someone. You can also pickpocket people who are sleeping.

How to Get and Use Lockpicks in KCD 2

Lockpicks are somewhat rare. They’re usuallysold by shady merchants you meet while traveling roads, and you can sometimes get them byknocking down and looting birds' nests. To do the latter, crouch down then press G/RB/R1 to throw a stone. Make sure the stone actually hits the nest, as Henry might not throw it exactly where your crosshair is pointing.

To use a lockpick, approach any locked door or chest and interact with it. The lockpicking minigame involves the following steps:

This is going to take a lot of practice for both you and Henry. Lockpicking depends on Henry’s personal skill level as well as your own aptitude — the higher Henry’sThieveryskill level is, the easier the locks will be for you to pick.
