As you make your way through 19th-century America, you’ll often come across animals that you’re able to hunt down to get valuable pelts, food, and resources. Some animals are not special in terms of their fur, but others, like the Legendary variants, can provide you with amazing things. Finding the Legendary Tatanka Bison is not an easy task, as it’s located inNew Austin, an area that, unless you take on several side quests and do tons of exploring, you probably will not have visited until the later stages of the game. Just follow the instructions in the picture above to find the right spot. Then, get ready to stalk the bison. To hunt down this precious prize, you’ll have to be very patient and ensure that you have the right tools for the job, as well as some considerable stealth skills to avoid scaring your prey away.
It’s strongly recommended that you practice with other animals for a while before you try to take on this or any other Legendary prey. Granted, as opposed to other animal pelts, Legendary animal pelts will not be damaged or lose quality, even if you use something like a shotgun to obtain them. However, the actual process of hunting them down can be quite complex, and the last thing you want to do is scare the bison away or, even worse, have it attack you. If you’re ever struggling to lure a predator, you may always make a Potent Predator Bait, which, among other ingredients,calls for Wintergreen Berries.
The Legendary Tatanka Bison pelt is very useful, as it’s necessary to craft one of thegreatest outfits in the game: the Dreamcatcher. This outfit is made up of the following components: theTatanka Bison Horn Trinket, theLegendary Boar and Bison Fowlers, theLegendary Bison Batwing Chaps, and theLegendary Bison Vest.
All in all, while the Legendary Tatanka Bison is not the toughest Legendary animal to hunt down, it does pose a significant challenge, and you’ll have to be very careful regarding how you approach this precious prey. That said, with enough patience and effort, you’ll be rocking your brand-new Dreamcatcher outfit in no time.
