Summary
World of Warcrafthas officially begun its second run of the Kalimdor Cup, the first Skyriding event from the old world. From now through March 10,World of Warcraftplayers can challenge 16 courses across Kalimdor in their Normal, Advanced, and Reverse variations to earn transmogs, Drakewatcher Manuscripts, and more.
Theoriginal run of the Kalimdor Cup– the first of several old world Skyriding race events – took place inWorld of Warcraftback in August 2023. Fans could earn Riders of Azeroth Badges by completing races, which can then be exchanged for several cosmetic rewards.
Now, the Kalimdor Cup has officially returned for a second run. For the next two weeks, players can challenge 16 Skyriding courses scattered across Kalimdor, each of which has a Normal, Advanced, and Reverse version. Fans can start these races as early as level 30 and can do so directly from the Bronze Timekeepers around the world, though speaking to Lord Andestrasz at the Rostrum of Transformation in Valdrakken grants an introductory quest that will let them earn bonus Riders of Azeroth Badges on each character.
World of Warcraft Kalimdor Cup Event Rewards
There are no new transmogs, achievements, or titles available during this run of the Kalimdor Cup, so players who already got everything last time can safely skip this run of the event – unless they simply wish to run the courses again for fun. That said, later old world Skyriding race events granted more Riders of Azeroth badges from the introductory quest, so it is possibleWorld of Warcraftmay change the Kalimdor Cupto meet this precedent. Fans will find out for sure once the servers come back up after maintenance for Patch 11.1.

The other old worldSkyriding events will be returning toWorld of Warcraftin the future as well. On the in-game calendar, the Eastern Kingdoms Cup is scheduled to begin on August 26, the Outland Cup on July 13, 2025, and the Northrend Cup on June 26, 2025, suggestingWorld of Warcraftwill bring one of these events back every six months indefinitely. It remains to be seen if it will eventually add other Skyriding race events to other old world zones like Pandaria, the Broken Isles, or Draenor.
Unfortunately, the Kalimdor Cup will have some stiff competition from otherWorld of Warcraftcontent over the next two weeks.World of WarcraftPatch 11.1 was released at the same timeas the event started, with Season 2 kicking off on March 4 for the second week of the event. Hopefully, players who missed out on the first Kalimdor Cup can pull themselves away from Undermine long enough to enjoy the event, as it will likely not return for at least another two years.
