On February 3,World of Warcraftlaunched its annual Love is in the Air event, granting players a limited timeframe in which to obtain rare rewards. Along with the elusive X-45 Heartbreaker rocket mount,World of Warcraftplayers have until February 17 to get the new Love Witch’s Sweeper broom mount, both of which have a low chance of dropping from the Apothecary Hummel boss encounter.
Held every February, Love is in the Air isWorld of Warcraft’s spin on Valentine’s Day. Love is in the Air was reworked in 2024, and nowWorld of Warcraftplayers can obtain romantic rewardsand earn achievements by participating in the Gala of Gifts held outside Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Some event rewards, including a Heartseeker Moth pet and a Swift Lovebird mount, can be obtained by spending Love Tokens at the Gala of Gifts. These tokens are obtained by completing seasonal quests while Love is in the Air is active.
Althoughthe Lunar Festival is still ongoingat the time of writing,World of Warcraftfans now have a chance to add more elusive prizes to their collections. According toa Blizzard blog post, the new Love Witch’s Sweeper mount can drop during the Love is in the Air boss encounter against Apothecary Hummel. The mount can be found in a Heart-Shaped Box that can only be obtained by defeating Apothecary Hummel using a high-level character. The battle against the Undead mad scientist and his minions can only be started via the Dungeon Finder. Along with the Love Witch’s Sweeper, the X-45 Heartbreaker can also be dropped from the Heart-Shaped Box.

However, two additional new rewards are more straightforward, as the Lovely Rose companion pet and the Truly Heartfelt Shoulder ensemble set can be purchased for 40 Love Tokens apiece. Additional cosmetics like the Sturdy Love Fool and Romantic Picnic Basket are also available for Love Tokens. With the introduction of the Warbands system inThe War Within, Love Tokens are now Warbound, meaning that they can be traded between characters on the same account. By taking part in the Love is in the Air event,World of Warcraftplayers can also make progress towardthe February 2025 Trading Postreward track.
Following rounds of player feedback,Blizzard increased the drop rate of the X-45 Heartbreaker mountfor the players' first daily victory over Apothecary Hummel. The rate plummets until 11:00 AM Eastern the following day, when daily quests inWorld of Warcraftare reset. Only time will tell how the rarity of the Love Witch’s Sweeper will compare to the notorious X-45 Heartbreaker.
