Summary
WWE 2K25’s DLC plans include the addition of “shocking” surprise wrestlers that one of its producers believes will astonish fans with their presence in a wrestling game. There are only a couple of weeks left beforeWWE 2K25’s launch, and no official DLC wrestlers have been announced yet, but many fans are excited to see what the rest of the year will have in store.
The roster ofWWE 2K25at launch will be the biggest ever in the series, featuring more than 300 different wrestlers, including alternate variants for some popular superstars andwrestlers recently cut from WWE. Two dozen wrestlers and managers among that number didn’t make it intoWWE 2K24, including Bloodline members Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tanga Loa; the Wyatt Sicks' Eric Rowan, and current NXT Champion Oba Femi.
While the at-launch roster size is impressive, producer Bryan Williams is excited about the DLC characters coming to the game throughout 2025. In a recently published interview withWrestleZone, Williams stated that he couldn’t do more than hint at DLC wrestlers at this time, but that announcements will be coming soon, and fans will be surprised at some of the additions to theroster ofWWE 2K25. “We’re pushing the envelope,” he explained in the interview. “We’re trying to move mountains to really make our DLC as exciting and as worthwhile post-launch as it possibly can be.”
WWE 2K25 DLC Will Have Some Shocking Inclusions
TheDLC release schedule forWWE 2K24included five different packs released between May and November of last year, with each including five new wrestlers except for the Global Superstars pack, which featured seven, and other bonuses including superstar cards for MyFACTION and one pack adding The Mouth of the South, Jimmy Hart, as a manager. These wrestlers made up the game’s Season Pass, but there were a few other characters added to the roster in other ways, including pre-order bonuses and purchase of the Bray Wyatt Edition, which was released in October.
Last year’s game included some surprise wrestlers as well, such as Post Malone, who served as the game’s executive soundtrack producer, and the roster of the Pat McAfee Pack, which included Pat McAfee Show alums like Boston Connor and A.J. Hawk. Some fans expectWWE’s working relationship with TNAmight bring some of its wrestlers over toWWE 2K25. Former TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace was signed to WWE in late January but didn’t make it in time to be added to the game’s roster, though she made several appearances with WWE while still signed to TNA. Likewise, current TNA World Champion Joe Hendry shocked the wrestling world when he appeared at the number 15 slot in the Royal Rumble earlier this month only to be almost immediately eliminated by Roman Reigns.
