Xbox Game Passhas addedKingdom Two Crownsto its content catalog. This is the third new title to reach Microsoft’s subscription service in February 2025, as well as the 16thXbox Game Passrelease since the turn of the year.

Developed by Thomas van den Berg in collaboration with Coatsink,Kingdom Two Crownsis the third installment in the award-winningKingdomseries ofside-scrolling strategy games. It was originally released for PC and consoles in December 2018 before making its way to Android and iOS devices in April 2020.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Xbox Game Pass users can start playing the 2018 strategy title as part of their subscriptions starting today, February 13. SinceKingdom Two Crownsis not a day-one release, it’s available across all tiers of the service, except for the infrequently updated Xbox Game Pass Core. While this is the first time that the game joined Microsoft’s content library, it was already brieflyavailable via Xbox Games with Gold between November and December 2021. Microsoft eventually discontinued its freebie program in September 2023, when it replaced it with Xbox Game Pass Core.

Kingdom Two Crowns Boasts Favorable Reviews From Critics and Fans Alike

Kingdom Two Crownsreceived favorable reviews at launch, as reflected in its “Strong” rating on OpenCritic, derived from an average score of 79 and a matching 79% reviewer recommendation rate. As of February 2025, the game also boasts “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam, based on over 24,000 player impressions. Meanwhile, its Xbox and PlayStation Store ratings presently sit at 3.8 and 4.6 stars, respectively.

A few DLC packs introducing newKingdom Two Crownsislandsand other content were released over the years. The most recent of them isCall of Olympus, which launched in October 2024. As per usual, Xbox Game Pass members only get access to the base game as part of their subscriptions, and can optionally purchase any DLC content separately.Kingdom Two Crownsis likely to stay on Xbox Game Pass for at least a year.

Moving forward, Microsoft’s subscription service has just one more confirmed title for this month, withAvowedbeing scheduled to reach Xbox Game Pass on February 18. This day-one title is poised to be the biggest XGP release of the month, not least because it’s the first RPG from the genre veterans at Obsidian Entertainment since the 2019The Outer Worlds. The second wave of February 2025 Xbox Game Pass releases is likely to be announced on February 18, just a few hours beforeAvowedmakes its way to the service.
