Right now, Insomniac is currently busy developing itsWolverinePS5 game, which is expected to launch at some point in 2026. Company leaks suggest Insomniac could also have astandaloneVenomgamein the works, but nothing concrete to that effect has been announced at the time of this writing. Regardless, the commercial and critical success enjoyed by Insomniac’sSpider-Mangames means that aSpider-Man 3is a matter of when, not if.

At the end of the game, Peter handed off his crime-fighting responsibilities to Miles Morales so he could focus more on his home life and relationship with Mary-Jane Watson. This ending left some fans worried that Peter Parker was permanently retiring as Spider-Man in the Insomniac universe, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.Yuri Lowenthal told The Directthat Peter Parker will be inSpider-Man 3. “Peter is not gone,” Lowenthal said. “He will be a part of the next game, and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise.” Reading between the lines, this seems to suggest that not only will Peter Parker be inSpider-Man 3, but he will once again be one of the game’s playable characters.
Spider-Man 3 Won’t Relegate Peter Parker to the Couch
Spider-Man 3has not been officially announced, and so fans know virtually nothing about it in an official capacity. However, it’s assumed that the game will bring back both Peter Parker and Miles Morales while potentially adding a third playable superhero to the mix. TheSpider-Man 2post-credit scene introduced the character Cindy Moon, who is Silk in the comic books. It’s been theorized thatSilk will be a playable characterinSpider-Man 3, but that remains to be seen.
As previously mentioned, Insomniac is currently focused onitsWolverinegame, though the studio has big plans for the future. Besides theVenomgame, leaks have suggested that Insomniac may also have plans forX-Menvideo games as well. Time will tell how many of Insomniac’s leaked projects actually come to fruition, however.
